Authorities are investigating after a man who was shot in Springfield died at a nearby hospital, Ryan Walsh, spokesperson for Springfield police, said on Twitter.
Police responded for a report of a gunshot victim at the intersection of Hancock and Union Streets around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6, Walsh said.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with gunshot wounds on Hancock Street. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he later died, Walsh said. The shooting is under investigation.
