A man was flown to a Rhode Island Hospital after a minivan he was driving collided with a commercial vehicle on Monday afternoon in Avon, police said.
The two-car crash happened in the area of Harrison Boulevard and Pond Street at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Avon Fire Chief David Charest and Police Chief Jeffrey Bukunt said in a joint statement. A minivan sustained heavy damage to both its front and sides in the crash, officials said.
Three men inside the minivan were all hurt in the crash and the van’s driver was flown to a Rhode Island hospital, according to the statement. The minivan’s other passengers were taken to area hospitals by ambulance.
