A man died after he fell while climbing in Leominster State Forest in Westminster Thursday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
State Police detectives assigned to Early’s office are investigating the man’s fall, the spokesperson, Lindsay Corcoran, said Thursday evening.
Earlier Thursday, around 3:45 p.m., the district attorney’s office confirmed a police investigation was ongoing in the forest.
No additional details about the man’s death were immediately released pending the investigation, according to Corcoran.
Leominster State Forest spans roughly 4,300 acres in Leominster, Westminster, Fitchburg and Sterling and features hiking, mountain biking, climbing and fishing.
