A man was taken into custody after a shooting outside a Stop & Shop in Revere Tuesday night sent one man to the hospital, according to multiple media reports.
The suspect and the charges they face were not immediately clear. Revere and Massachusetts State Police did not return requests for comment sent by MassLive Wednesday morning.
Police arrived to the store at 540 Squire Road around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, State Police told The Boston Globe. When police arrived, they found the man who had been shot and took him to the hospital.
The shooting does not appear to be random, according to the paper.
Few details about the shooting were released to media by police, but WCVB-TV obtained surveillance video from a Tesla parked nearby that shows two men in an argument. The witness in the car told the station he saw a man get out of a car and shoot another man in the stomach.
In a statement to WCVB, Stop & Shop described the shooting as an “unfortunate incident.”
“We’re cooperating with the police in their investigation,” Stop & Shop told the station. “The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority for us, and we are thankful for local law enforcement and first responders for their swift response.”
