Malik Nabers’ NFL rookie season has been a tough one and reached another low on Sunday.
The Giants fell 30-7 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 and have now lost six straight games as New York fell to 2-9. And after Nabers rushed for 64 yards on six carries and wasn’t targeted in the first half. He expressed his frustration by calling the Giants “soft as (expletive)” when asked to describe the loss.
“I’m tired of going out there and losing. It’s just that,” Nabers told reporters. “… First, second quarter, I don’t get the ball. Start getting targets at the end. I mean, I can’t do nothing. I started getting the ball when it’s 30-0. What do you want me to do?”

When asked why he didn’t have a catch until the second half, Nabers — who was drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Giants — said that’s a question for coach Brian Daboll.
“They come up to me asking what plays I want and that was that,” Nabers said. “I don’t know.”
The blowout loss comes days after the Giants released quarterback Daniel Jones. He went 24-44-1 as a starter, including 2-8 this season before he asked the team that drafted him sixth-overall in 2019 to release him.
A change at the position didn’t do New York any good, Tommy DeVito started and went 21-of-31 for 189 yards. Backup Drew Lock came in for a play and completed his only pass of the game.
“Obviously, it ain’t the quarterback,” Nabers said. “Same outcome when we had DJ at quarterback. Take a look. It ain’t the quarterback.”
