Behind a career-high 32 points from Malik Mack, the Harvard men’s basketball team earned an impressive 78-75 overtime win against UMass on Friday.

In the final moments, freshman Jaylen Curry missed a potential game-tying three-pointer for the Minutemen. After maintaining possession for nearly 20 seconds, Curry let one loose, but the basketball hit the backboard and rimmed out.

UMass also didn’t help itself from the free-throw line, going 10-for-25, as the team moved to 2-1 on the season. In the outcome, they also shot 37% from the field (29-for-78) and 25% from the three-point range (7-for-28).

The Minutemen also recorded a season-high 12 turnovers.

Meanwhile, Harvard moved to 4-0 for the first time since the 2013-14 season. The Crimson went 11-of-24 behind the arc for 45.8%. They also recorded nine combined treys between the second half and overtime to come out ahead.

UMass will look to turn things around against Central Connecticut State on Wednesday, with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
