Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department early winter programming

Longmeadow – Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department presents their upcoming winter programming.

Adult Karate & Tai Chi: The next session of adult Karate and Tai Chi begins the week of Jan. 2 at the Greenwood Center. Join Jim Shea for one 7-week session, or continue all year long. The study of karate is an inner search for growth and self-discipline, which encompasses many ideals. Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise with an emphasis on deep breathing, slow movements, and chi (energy) development, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life. Register today at www.lprd.net.

Springfield Thunderbirds Discount Tickets: Now available at the Parks & Recreation Main Office on 231 Maple Rd. (The Greenwood Center). Vouchers are redeemable for yellow tier “Center Value” seats for any home Thunderbirds Hockey game at the MassMutual Center. Cost is $25 per voucher and may only be purchased in person.

The “Longmeadow Store” at LPRD – NOW ONLINE: Give a gift that embodies “buy local” in the best way with LPRD’s very own Longmeadow apparel. Aprons, hoodies, beach towels, tote bags, campfire mugs and more are available for purchase online or in their office during normal business hours. Visit www.lprd.net to view the gallery of hometown items.

Musical Notes for Infants & Toddlers: The next session with entertainer Jon O’Neill begins Jan. 16. Join Mr. Jon on Tuesday mornings with your little ones and clap, dance and sing along.

Valentine Sweetheart Ball: Save the date! This long-time favorite event for families is back and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Longmeadow Community House auditorium.
