The month of February brings more than just a reason to celebrate your significant other during Valentine’s Day. There’s also Galentine’s Day, which has gained popularity in recent years.
The global holiday that celebrates women’s friendships is typically observed on Feb. 13. But it is also commonly celebrated any day between Feb. 1 and Feb. 14.
Galentine’s Day events are typically all-female occasions of mutual empowerment and serve as “a reminder for women to support and uplift one another,” People wrote in a 2023 article. The holiday was also popularized by an episode of Parks and Recreation in 2010, the outlet mentioned.

Galentine’s Day Design: Festive Holiday Floral Class
Take a floral arranging class at the Cass School of Floral Design in Watertown on Sunday, Feb. 11. The class will let girl friends come together in the spirit of Galantine’s Day by putting together floral displays that can serve as a reminder of the holiday. The class is designed for beginners and no flower experience is necessary. The class starts at 10 a.m. and tickets can be bought online.
Galentine’s Day improv show at Improv Asylum
For one night only on Tuesday, Feb. 13, all the women of Improv Asylum’s in Boston cast will come together to perform original sketches and improv sets for Galentine’s Day. The show starts at 8 p.m. and entry is $20.
Valentine’s, Galentine’s, Bromance, Singles, etc. Day at City Tap House
City Tap in Boston is helping people have a more relaxed Valentine’s Day by inviting people all of relationship statuses to a “no strings attached” dinner, including Galentines. On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Ford Point spot will offer a three-course customizable prix fixe menu from 5-10 p.m. The dinner is $75 per person and reservations can be made on Resy.
Galentine’s Day dinner at Davio’s
Davio’s in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood is hosting a dinner just for Galentine’s Day on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 6-8 p.m. Girl friends will enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, two Galentine’s Cocktails and a box of Chocolate Covered Strawberries to take home! Tickets come with a raffle ticket for a chance to win an exclusive prize. Tickets, which should be bought online, are $60 per person. All attendees must be 21 years or older with a proper ID.
