The original members of an iconic punk rock band will reunite during a popular music and arts festival on the South Shore this weekend.
The 11th annual Levitate Music and Arts Festival is scheduled to kick off at the Marshfield Fairgrounds in Marshfield on Friday, July 5 with some major names in punk and indie music headlining the three-day event.
On Sunday, legendary punk band Sublime will take the stage with original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson as well as Jakob Nowell, son of Sublime’s late founding member Bradley Nowell. This comes after Sublime reunited for their Coachella performance earlier this year.
“This is great because I haven’t had the opportunity to play with Bud Gaugh in over a decade,” Wilson said in a press release. “To have Brad’s son playing our music is the closest thing possible to playing with my old buddy Brad.”
Before fans catch this reunion, indie rockers Mt. Joy will headline Levitate’s Friday show, while Lake Street Dive, which originated in Boston, will headline the Saturday show.
