Kenley Jansen, Red Sox bullpen implode again in dramatic loss to Yankees

BOSTON — Kenley Jansen had the Yankees down to their last strike facing a hitter who is batting .185 this year. That’s usually a good spot for the Red Sox to be in. On Saturday, it was not.

Light-hitting outfielder Trent Grisham hit a two-out game-tying double in the ninth as Jansen blew his second save in three tries, then the Yankees rallied for three runs against mop-up man Chase Anderson in the 10th to win a dramatic, back-and-forth game, 11-8. New York took the lead on an Austin Wells sacrifice fly and broke things open on a two-run double by Gleyber Torres, who started the game off 0-for-5. Due to their bullpen woes, the Sox fell to 55-48 on the year — and 2-6 since the All-Star break. Boston has allowed 57 runs in those eight games (7.13 per game).
