The case of Karen Read, a 44-year-old woman who is accused of killing her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, has grown into a national story as accusations of a conspiracy and cover-up swirl.
Read‘s case has now extended to three parts of Massachusett’s court system: its criminal courts, where she is set to be tried for a second time on charges in connection with O‘Keefe’s death, its civil courts, where O‘Keefe’s family is suing her for causing his death and the state Supreme Judicial Court where she is claiming double jeopardy.
