SPRINGFIELD — From the front passenger seat of a Drug Enforcement Administration agent’s vehicle parked outside a Dunkin’, Marcus Hicks was telling all.
Moments before on that day in November 2022, officers with the DEA task force had searched Hicks’ vehicle and had found a gallon bag of marijuana, baggies of cocaine and a handgun. Hicks, according a judge’s order issued last week, was willing to “do anything” to get out of the jam.
In the car, Hicks said he bought cocaine weekly or even biweekly from someone he met when they worked at the same pizzeria. He “agreed to cooperate with future DEA investigations into the narcotics trade in Springfield, Massachusetts,” Judge Mark G. Mastroianni noted in an order Sept. 3.
