Jaylen Brown injury: Boston Celtics star leaves Nets game

The Celtics were already down two rotation players against the Nets, then another one of their starters left Saturday’s game early. Jaylen Brown was downgraded on the injury report to doubtful to return due to low back spasms.

Brown left Saturday’s game with 6:12 left in the third quarter. At that point in the game, Brown had eight points, six rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes played. Brown shot 3-for-8 from the field, along with 1-for-3 on 3-pointers.

Brown also sat Friday’s win in Miami due to what the team listed as right knee posterior impingement. He was also questionable ahead of Saturday’s game for the same reason, though he was upgraded to available.

So it appears the back spasms are new for Brown. The Celtics are also likely being cautious with Brown considering they want him healthy for the playoffs. But that is something worth monitoring going forward in terms of Brown’s status.
