SPRINGFIELD — Chicago-based rap phenom G Herbo pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy and lying to federal agents in U.S. District Court Friday.
The rapper, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, was indicted in 2020 on fraud and identity theft in this city along with six codefendants — accused of reaping the benefits of stolen credit card information to make sham purchases of private jet charters, yachts, exotic cars and designer puppies.
