Antonio Brown made some wild claims on social media this week, most notably saying that he is filing for bankruptcy — and that he’s a lock for the Hall of Fame.
Brown, who is active and erratic on social media, made a bizarre “breaking news” post on one of his accounts, CTESPNNetwork, that claimed that he filed for bankruptcy on Monday.
“He will be a first ballot hall of famer in 2027. He will be releasing new music this summer,” the post claims.
Brown also posted a link to a Cash App page for CTESPN, writing, “I’m Broke Baby,” in addition to vulgar comments.
Brown routinely promotes “CTESPNNetwork” on social media, often as a hashtag. CTESPNNetwork is also a podcast and website. The podcast’s first episode, featuring star NFL receiver Tyreek Hill, was released on May 13.
In the bankruptcy post, Brown claimed he is “the founder of the most trusted source in all of sports.” This often comes in the form of him posting content on social media. The “news” section of the CTESPNNetwork features zero posts.

Brown’s financial decisions have been the subject of much criticism over the years. He has faced numerous accusations of failing to pay for services. In 2023, a football team he owned was kicked out of the National Arena League due to lack of payment. In 2023, Brown was arrested in Florida on a warrant after a court ruled that Brown had missed child support payments.
Brown also performs as a rap artist. In 2022, he was scheduled to perform at the Worcester nightclub Whiskey on Water. He failed to show up to the event. When confronted about the deposit for the event, Brown claimed, “Hit my lawyer, fam.”
A seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro selection, Brown was indeed one of the most talented wide receivers during his time in the NFL. However, his football career was marred with controversy, including a disastrous one-game run with the New England Patriots in 2019.
After a successful nine-year run with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown was traded to Raiders, but never played for the team. Instead, Brown was cut before the start of the season and landed with the Patriots.
Brown played one game in New England before a series of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment allegations came to light. He was released after less than two weeks with the team.
Brown eventually landed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reuniting him with Tom Brady. The troubled receiver won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020.
At the end of the 2021 season, Brown’s time in Tampa came to a dramatic end as he stripped off gear and walked off the field in the middle of a game. He was cut shortly after and has not been part of an NFL roster since.
