The series follows a generation of the Dutton family in 1923 during a time of various hardships like Prohibition, drought, and the early stages of the Great Depression.

In season two, a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob and Cara back at Dutton ranch, according to Paramount+. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.

The series stars Brandon Sklenar, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Jerome Flynn and Julia Schlaepfer.
