These teams met on New Year’s Eve and UConn earned a 90-53 victory. Azzi Fudd had 18 points, six assists and four steals while Sarah Strong had 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Blanca Quiñonez had 11 off the bench, and Jana El Alfy had 10 off the bench while Kayleigh Heckel had 9 from off the pine. Sabou Gueye led Providence with 12 while Payton Dunbar and Princess Moody both had 11.

Now, UConn is 28-0 and 17-0 in the Big East while the Friars are 14-14 and 7-10 in the Big East. Providence has won four straight, and the squad’s 16-point win over Xavier was its biggest margin of victory in a Big East win this season, while UConn is coming off a 15-point win over Marquette and a 14-point win over Villanova, its two lowest margins of victory in Big East games this season.
