According to a description by A&E, the series will look at the personal stories of the victims and how the investigations unfolded. The stories are told from the perspective of family members and law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly in their quest to solve these horrific crimes.
Episode 4 features a case on March 24, 2016. “The Sheriff’s Office in DeRidder, Louisiana receives a distressing phone call from the owner of Dee’s Motel. The man tells them that he’s found a woman dead in room 6. At the motel, police find a bloody scene which indicates the woman was the victim of a brutal attack,” according to a description of the episode from A&E.
The victim is identified as Sonya Ortego, she and her fiancé had been staying at the motel for almost two months. Detectives then interview witnesses and collect evidence from the scene and later police start to believe DeRidder may have a killer on the loose.”
