
The stretch of Brighton Avenue through the heart of Boston’s Allston neighborhood can be a travel nightmare: walkers, bikers, cars and buses galore, nevermind omnipresent delivery drivers parked by the side of the road or zipping through traffic on mopeds.
It’s an easy spot for a public bus to get delayed. However, through a new program, the MBTA found a way to move its buses more efficiently through the corridor, cutting travel times by 8%. Officials say it could be scaled to bus routes region-wide.
