BALTIMORE — Friday night’s bizarre Red Sox win was just more of the same for a team that has forged quite a strange identity since the All-Star break.
In a 12-10, interminable victory over the Orioles, the Red Sox collected 17 runs (including four homers) and tagged Baltimore ace Corbin Burnes for eight runs and 10 hits in four innings. But the club’s pitchers allowed 14 hits and constantly allowed a potent O’s offense to keep crawling back into the game. It marked the first time since Sept. 2019 that the Red Sox won a game in which they had allowed 10 or more runs.
