The Bruins spend a few hours of Saturday in second place in the Atlantic Division. Florida’s win over Buffalo briefly leapfrogged the Panthers over Boston into first place. But the Bruins’ win over the Penguins gave Boston a one-lead with a game in hand.
A win over the Capitals on Monday would clinch the Atlantic for Boston and secure in a first-round series with Tampa, who is locked into the No. 1 wild card spot, unable to move up or down now. Toronto is assured of finishing third in the Atlantic as well.
