How are former Bruins doing with their new teams?

Tyler Bertuzzi’s November was much better than his October, but in his first game in December, the brief former Bruin didn’t make his old team regret being unable to re-sign him.

In Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Bruins, Bertuzzi, now with the Maple Leafs, had three shots and no points in 17:53 in his second game against Boston. He has five goals and four assists for just nine assists so far this season for Toronto, who’d hoped that Bertuzzi would add much more to their offense when they signed him during the offseason.

He’s not alone among the struggling ex-Bruins. Here’s how the other members of the 2022-23 Bruins are doing this year with their new teams:

Dmitry Orlov, Carolina Hurricanes — After a brutal start, Orlov has rebounded and is providing value for the two-year deal for $7.75 million he got from Carolina. He has a goal and eight assists and is minus-4 for the Hurricanes. He was -10 on Oct. 24 so things are improving.

Nick Foligno, Chicago Blackhawks — The well-respected 36-year-old veteran is helping provide leadership to a young Blackhawks team. Foligno has two goals and seven assists in 22 games.

Tomas Nosek, New Jersey DevilsNosek reaggravated his foot injury and had surgery on Wednesday. He’s out indefinitely.

Connor Clifton, Buffalo Sabres — Clifton has not been the offensive catalyst from the blue line the Sabres had hoped he’d be. In 20 games he has two assists and is a minus-8. He’ll visit the Bruins with Buffalo on Thursday.

Garnet Hathaway, Philadelphia Flyers, — The fourth-line grinder is still hard to play against. He has two goals, an assist and 42 penalty minutes for the Flyers.

A.J. Greer, Calgary Flames — The Bruins tried to send A.J. Greer to Providence before the start of the 2023-24 season as Milan Lucic was expected to fill the role of physical bottom-six forward. But with Lucic out for at least the foreseeable future, Greer might have had a role in Boston. But Calgary claimed him on waivers and he already has four goals and four assists, not far from the career highs he set last year (five goals, seven assists already).

Craig Smith, Dallas Stars — In 20 games for the Stars, Smith has two goals and one assist.

Taylor Hall, Chicago BlackhawksHall was traded to create cap space during the offseason. After a slow start, he’s out for the season after knee surgery.
