No. 1 Hoosac Valley and No. 2 West Boylston will play in the Division V girls basketball state championship this afternoon at the Tsongas Center on the campus of UMass Lowell. The game tips off at noon.
The Hurricanes are no stranger to the championship round and making deep runs in the postseason. Hoosac Valley made it to the championship game in 2022, but eventually fell to Hopedale. Last season, the Hurricanes made it to the semifinal round before falling to Millis.
This year, the team has been led on offense by Ashlyn Lesure, Taylor Garabedian and Emma Meczywor. The program comes into the title game with a record of 22-3 and following a win against Renaissance in the semifinal round.
West Boylston earned a spot in the championship game with an overtime win against Palmer in the semifinal round.
