HOLYOKE – In his decades volunteering for the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade, John Beaulieu has done almost everything connected to the event except actually watching it.
But this year was different. As committee president, he marched at the head of the parade in style – wearing an Irish knit sweater and a kilt in the pattern of the official Holyoke tartan – and then got to listen to every band, cheer on every colleen and admire every float from the viewing stand at Holyoke City Hall.
