High surf advisory issued for Barnstable County until Thursday evening – breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet predicted

On Thursday at 3:24 a.m. a high surf advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Thursday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Barnstable County.

The weather service comments, “Large breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet expected in the surf zone.”

“Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion,” adds the weather service. “Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.”
