High surf advisory for 5 Massachusetts counties until Monday evening – breaking waves of 4 to 9 feet expected

The National Weather Service issued a high surf advisory at 7:08 a.m. on Sunday valid from noon until Monday 7 p.m. for Bristol, Plymouth, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service states, “Large breaking waves of 4 to 9 feet expected in the surf zone.”

“Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion,” states the weather service. “Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.”
