Here’s when rain is expected during Fourth of July weekend

You might want to bring an umbrella to your Fourth of July barbecue.

Although “no washouts” are expected, some scattered showers could impact your Fourth of July plans, the National Weather Service warned.

The weather service shared a chart showing the probability of precipitation. Most of Thursday afternoon and evening remains between 20-30% across the state. However, “Saturday into Saturday night will be a bit more active,” the weather service said.

On Saturday, rain is expected in the afternoon and evening. It is most likely in Western Massachusetts, Worcester and Boston with lower chances on Cape Cod.

In May, the long-range weather prediction for Farmers’ Almanac said Fourth of July weekend is expected to be “generally pleasant” with fair skies. This includes July 4-7.

It is the only few days the Farmers’ Almanac isn’t predicting rain in July.
