Here’s what we know about possible thunderstorms during Boston Calling

Concertgoers can expect largely warm and dry weather during Boston Calling this weekend. However, a few thunderstorms are also possible.

Mostly warm and dry conditions are forecast this weekend, but a few afternoon showers or thunderstorms are possible Sunday. High temperatures in Boston will hover in the high 70s on Saturday before climbing to the low 80s on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

A weak, low-pressure storm system will move across northern New England late Saturday into Sunday, the weather service noted.

“This will place our region on the warmer and more humid side,” the weather service said. “While there is a low risk for showers or thunderstorms as the night progresses, the risk increases with daytime heating Sunday, especially across the interior during the afternoon.”

On Saturday, as the music festival kicks off at 1:45 p.m. with a performance by Senseless Optimism, concertgoers can expect sunny skies. Temperatures should rise to as high as 77 degrees, according to the weather service.

There is a 20% chance of showers in Boston after 2 a.m. Saturday, the weather service said. However, if there is any nighttime precipitation, it will come well after when the last artist of the night, Tyler Childers, is expected to finish his set, which should be around 10:45 p.m.

On Sunday, there is a 30% chance of precipitation in Boston after noon. Showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms as well, according to the weather service. However, widespread severe weather is not a concern. Highs should climb to 81 degrees, and partly sunny skies are forecast.

The music festival will kick off Sunday with a performance by Stefan Thev at 1:40 p.m. and end with a set by The Killers from 9:10 p.m. to around 10:45 p.m.
