After thunderstorms created muggy conditions amid above-average temperatures on Thursday, those headed to Boston Calling on Friday can expect less humid but still warm conditions throughout the day.
The weekend-long festival opens its doors around 1 p.m. Friday ahead of the first performance of the day, from Divine Sweater, at around 1:45 p.m. By 1 p.m., temperatures should rise above 80 degrees with about 33% humidity. Forecasters predict a breeze of around 13 mph at that time.
“Abundant sunshine today and less humid,” forecasters wrote, adding they expected a “much [more] quiet day today weatherwise.”
As the festival progresses on Friday temperatures should cool down, with forecasters expecting a cold front to move in. Those sticking around for the opening day’s headlining performance — Ed Sheeran — can expect temperatures to fall all the way down to 72 degrees by 9 p.m.
Saturday will be slightly cooler but still warm and dry, according to forecasters.
Those attending the festival on Sunday though might want to make sure they have an umbrella, as “hit-or-miss showers and storms” are possible, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
