SPRINGFIELD – Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport will welcome 15 or 20 luxurious private jets this weekend, as the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame enshrines its class of 2024.
Those planes compare to the two or three private jets present on an average weekend, said Christopher J. Willenborg, airport manager. Westover Metropolitan Airport in Chicopee similarly counts the annual enshrinement weekend as its busiest weekend of the year, said its president and airport manager, Andy Widor.
