Goyette wins seat on Westfield light board; write-in runner-up thanks supporters

WESTFIELD — Robert Goyette won Tuesday’s special election for Ward 5 Municipal Light Board representative with 91% of the vote, according to unofficial results.

He received 525 out of the 578 total votes. Write-in candidates, including Kenneth McLean, received 49 votes, 8% of the total. The remaining 1% of ballots were blank. The 578 voters made up 10.44% of Ward 5′s 5,535 registered voters.
