There were giant lines for the giant mozzarella sticks at The Big E after the cheesy treat went viral on TikTok last year.
This year, fairgoers might get a slight break from the lines as there will be two options for the unique food.
The giant mozzarella stick from Angela’s Pizza on Commonwealth Ave wasn’t new in 2023. However, it found its way on many people’s TikTok videos, who often showcased a cheesy pull from the giant mozzarella stick.
“It’s all the deliciousness of a normal mozzarella stick, but with the cheesiness turned up to a crazy new magnitude,” MassLive’s Nick O’Malley wrote in 2022, calling it one of the 10 best foods to try during your first time at The Big E.
The other new option will be at Hot Wisconsin Cheese on Springfield Road.
It’ll be called “The Big Mozz.” It’s described as a single piece of hand-cut mozzarella cheese, deep fried on a stick.
“Crispy crunch on the outside and ooey gooey in the middle,” a press release states.
Other new foods offered at The Big E this year include a maple bacon cupcake, pickle fries, a new Craz-E burger, margaritas with cotton candy on top and deviled eggs.

The Big E returns to West Springfield Sept. 13 and lasts until Sept. 29.
