Former Patriots WR, one-time 1st-round pick, signs with AFC opponent

Cut after a questionable social media post last week, Jalen Reagor has found a new home on the West Coast.

On Monday, the former New England Patriots receiver signed a deal to join the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad, according to multiple reports. PFN’s Adam Caplan was the first with the news.

Reagor started the season with the Patriots practice squad, but made waves last week when he posted a picture of a Bugatti in a trailer park to his Instagram story — which many interpreted as him suggesting that he is the expensive car in the bad situation.

Reagor deleted the photo, but the post had already made the rounds. Later that day, the Patriots parted ways with the 25-year-old receiver.

A first-round pick in 2020, Reagor hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in the NFL. The former TCU star had a lackluster run with the Eagles before spending time with the Vikings and then the Patriots.

Last season in New England, Reagor appeared in 11 games, catching 7 passes for 138 yards. His biggest contribution was a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown against the Bills late in the year.

Now with the Chargers, Reagor could be in line for a bigger role. Bleacher Report’s Aaron Schultz reported that the plan is to eventually elevate Reagor to the active roster.

That could lead to a reunion in Foxborough. The Chargers are set to travel to Gillette Stadium to face the Patriots on Dec. 29 for a Week 17 matchup.
