Former Celtics guard signs deal with Clippers

One more former Celtics guard has found a new home ahead of training camp as Brodric Thomas has agreed to a deal with the Clippers. Law Murray of The Athletic reports it’s an Exhibit 10 pact.

The 26-year-old Thomas spent parts of two seasons with the Celtics before being one of the final cuts during training camp last year. He posted 1.8 points and 0.9 assists per game for Boston over his 12 appearances and has suited up for 44 regular season games in total.

Despite those limited appearances, Thomas has been a standout in the G-League in his pro career, averaging 16.1 points and 3.7 assists over the past three seasons.

Thomas will likely enter Clippers training camp with little chance of making a stacked 15-man roster but he is eligible for a two-way deal after having just two seasons of NBA experience so far. The Clippers have one remaining two-way slot open with Mousa Diabate and Jordan Miller taking up the other two slots.

Thomas joins a long list of former Celtics from the 2021-22 roster that has found new homes in recent weeks. Former two-way player Matt Ryan inked a new deal with the Timberwolves on Tuesday while Romeo Langford signed a training camp deal with the Jazz last month. NBA training camp opens up around the league starting next Monday.
