WEST SPRINGFIELD — A stabbing that took a man’s life in May was triggered by a robbery gone bad, according to court records.
Police found Joseph Seymour Sr., of Amostown Road, on a grassy patch near his home on May 25, suffering from a stabbing to which he would later succumb. A police report recently obtained by The Republican sheds light on what allegedly led to his death — including the roles his own children played.
The new information shows witnesses told detectives Seymour and his son attacked and robbed a heroin dealer summoned to their home, but Joseph Seymour Sr. became the ultimate victim.
