Eyedrops recalled due to ‘vision-threatening’ fungus: Return ASAP

Eyedrops distributed nationwide are being recalled after a “fungal material,” was found inside an unopened vial of eyedrops.

Alcon Laboratories Inc. issued a voluntary recall of one lot of 25-count Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF Single Vials On-the-Go earlier this week.

A customer notified the company of a foreign material in a sealed vial which was later determined fungus.

If fungus is introduced to the eyes it can cause eye infections that may be vision threatening, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
