SPRINGFIELD — A 77-year-old East Longmeadow man was acquitted by a jury of a motor vehicle homicide charge after being involved in a 2022 crash with a motorcyclist.
John Metzidakis was indicted by a Hampden County grand jury the following year, charged in connection with the fatal collision that took Cameron Champigny’s life on June 10, 2022.
Champigny was 28 and awaiting the birth of his first child when he died, according to his obituary.
