A driver was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter after their vehicle went under a guardrail, trapping them inside, early Sunday morning, according to police.
Raynham firefighters went to Route 24 southbound at its interchange with Route 144 at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, where they found a vehicle under the guardrail near the on-ramp. The driver, who was the only person inside the vehicle, was trapped inside, Raynham Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita said in a statement.
Firefighters worked to remove the driver from the vehicle, using hydraulic cutting tools to do so. Crews had to remove a tree to free up the driver’s side door of the vehicle, according to the statement.
The driver was removed from the car after about 15 minutes. They were then flown to an area hospital via medical helicopter, according to LaCivita.
