Doing Valentine’s Day on a budget? Here are 4 free events in Boston

People typically spend a good chunk of change on flowers, chocolates and dinner for their soulmate on Valentine’s Day.

But for those living on a tight budget this Valentine’s Day, several events in Boston can help sweethearts celebrate the holiday without breaking the bank.

Below is a list of free romantic events:

Rainbow Romance: A Valentine’s Party for All

When: 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12

Where: BAGLY, 28 Court Square, Boston

BAGLY, a nonprofit organization, will host a Valentine’s Day party for LGBTQ+ youth aged 22 and under. Whether people are spending the holiday with friends or their significant other, the event is intended to be a space for all to celebrate. General admission is free. Reserve a spot here.

Valentine’s Day market at Crystal Ballroom

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9

Where: Crystal Ballroom, 55 Davis Square, Somerville

Multiple vendors selling “unique finds and perfect gifts for your Valentine” will gather for a Valentine’s Day-themed market at Crystal Ballroom in Somerville. There will also be a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. General admission to the market is free. People can reserve a spot online.

Anti-Valentine’s Day Bash

When: 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14

Where: Time Out Market Boston, 401 Park Drive, Boston

A night of anti-romance awaits people at Time Out Market, complete with live music and themed cocktails. All ages are welcome to attend the free event. People can reserve their spot online.

Castle Island South Boston Valentine Shop & Sip Marketplace

When: 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9

Where: Castle Island Brewing — South Boston, 10 Old Colony Ave., Boston

At this free event, attendees can sip on craft brews and browse for gifts from local vendors. “Whether you’re searching for the perfect Valentine’s surprise, a Galentine’s treat, or something special just for you, this event is the perfect way to celebrate the season of love,” the event’s page reads.
