HOLYOKE — A Holyoke organization tasked with investigating violations of the Fair Housing Act faces an uncertain future after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said it was terminating the grant that made up more than half its budget.
According to a letter sent to the Massachusetts Fair Housing Center last Thursday by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the organization has lost $425,000 in congressionally-approved funding that it received to enforce the Fair Housing Act, said Maureen St. Cyr, the executive director.
