Burlington police are looking for a suspect after a dog walker and his dog were attacked Tuesday morning, according to Police Chief Thomas Browne.
The 69-year-old man was attacked while walking his dog around Mill Pond Reservoir at about 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5, Browne said in a statement.
“It was reported that the accused attacker also violently attacked and beat the dog the 69-year-old man was walking, causing serious injury to the dog,” Browne said.
The chief added that the attack happened because of a confrontation between the walker and the suspected attacker’s dogs. Authorities are now looking for a person of interest.
The suspected attacker is described as a white man in his early 30s with an athletic build, Browne said.
He was riding a black mountain bike at the time of the attack. The man was also with two dogs, including one described as a Beagle mix.
Anyone with information or who may have video of the attack is asked to contact Burlington Police at 781-272-1212.
