While the Celtics were fully healthy for the first time this season going into Friday’s game against the Bulls, they did pick up a new injury. Derrick White was downgraded on the Celtics injury report to doubtful to return with a sore right foot.
C’s coach Joe Mazzulla said after Friday’s game that he spoke to White after the game and White said he was fine. However, Mazzulla said he didn’t have anymore updates than that.

White played 24 minutes in Friday’s win over the Bulls, putting up 16 points, six rebounds and four assists as he was having a productive night. But that sore right foot popped up in the NBA Cup game Friday against the Bulls. White checked out of the game with 8:08 left in the third quarter.
The Celtics had a clean injury report for the first time this season going into Friday’s game. Kristaps Porzingis had missed the first 17 games of the season but returned this week in the blowout Clippers victory. So the C’s could tinker with their rotations and looks throughout Friday’s game.
But White left early in the third quarter as the Celtics were in a dogfight with the Clippers. The severity of the injury is still unknown and if White could miss any additional time aside from Friday’s game. So that’s something to monitor going forward for the reigning champs.
