SPRINGFIELD — The city’s Department of Public Works announced it is behind in collecting yard waste and plan to catch up tomorrow, Aug. 2.
“Their trucks are just delayed; that’s it,” said William Baker, communications director for Mayor Domenic J. Sarno.
The city encourages residents to continue to leave their trash and recycling barrels on the curb by 6 a.m. on the morning of their scheduled pick-up.
“On behalf of DPW, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding,” a statement from Sarno’s office reads.
