The San Francisco 49ers have not lived up to their expectations, and frustrations appeared to boil over on Sunday afternoon.
Kicker Jake Moody missed his third field goal of the game with 3:13 left in the fourth quarter. The 49ers were up 23-20 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the game wouldn’t have been as close had Moody made his kicks.
After the third missed field goal, cameras captured Deebo Samuel pushed long snapper Taybor Pepper by the neck and got a piece of Moody’s helmet in the process. Pepper had words for Samuel as the star wide receiver kept walking down the sidelines.

“It’s an emotional game,” Moody told reporters after the win. “Stuff like that happens all the time. You just move past it. We won, so that’s all that matters.”
Moody added there wasn’t an apology from Deebo but “there doesn’t need” to be one.
“Heat of the moment. It happens,” Moody said. “I do gotta make those kicks at the end of the day.”
Coach Kyle Shanahan said they’ll work it out on the plane ride out of Tampa Bay and “go back to loving each other tomorrow.”
Moody redeemed himself by hitting the game-winning 44-yard field goal to lift the 49ers to the victory.
