A police officer who authorities said repeatedly misrepresented his work history as he shuffled from department to department was stripped this month of his license to work in law enforcement in Massachusetts, ending his policing career here.
The state’s police oversight board, the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, found Sarfaraz Mushtaque “was untruthful” about his prior employment when applying for new police jobs “on several occasions” in the last four years.
The board also cited him for other misconduct, including holding onto a department-issued firearm long after his employment ended and alleged harassment of a former girlfriend.
