Two minutes into the second period, the Bruins appeared to be headed for a disaster. Instead, they earned one of their most uplifting wins of the year.
David Pastrnak smoked a shot past Dustin Wolf, 4:20 into overtime to complete the comeback as Boston erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to beat Calgary, 4-3, on Tuesday.
The Bruins will try to close the road trip with their third straight win on Thursday in Edmonton.

The Bruins were outshot 9-4, outplayed and outskated in the first period, but escaped unscathed as the teams went to intermission, 0-0.
They weren’t as fortunate in the second as Calgary scored twice in the first 1:21 of the period. Trying to reverse course, Joe Sacco used his timeout and it seemed to give his team a spark.
Former Flame Elias Lindholm, who was honored with a tribute video in the first period for his time in Calgary, scored his first goal in 12 games with 6:31 into the middle frame to make it 2-1.
He had a great look at another one late in the second. With 3:21 left, Brad Marchand threaded a pass to him, giving Lindholm a mini-break as they crossed into the zone.
Boston’s increasing momentum would have exploded if Lindholm could have scored. But Dustin Wolf deflected his shot away. That started a big swing as Ryan Lomborg took advantage of the Bruins’ defense being out of position 40 seconds later. His shot beat Jeremy Swayman to push the Flames’ lead back to two goals.
But the Bruins’ push continued in the third. Morgan Geekie scored his second goal in as many games as he tapped in the rebound of an Andrew Peake shot, 4:14 into the third.
They tied the game less than three minutes later as Marchand fed Marc McLaughlin cutting to the net. Wolf stopped his first shot, but McLaughlin followed it and popped the rebound in to make it 3-3.
Swayman made 20 saves to earn the win.
