Officials are warning of dangerous swimming and surfing conditions at Massachusetts beaches Monday.
A high surf advisory is in effect for all of Cape Cod and parts of Rhode Island, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Monday.
Large breaking waves of 4 to 8 feet are expected in the surf zone following a weekend of storms across Massachusetts, the weather service reported.
“Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions,” the weather service wrote.
There is also a small craft advisory for the entire coast of Massachusetts until 9 a.m. Monday. The weather service is predicting 3 to 5 feet of waves, warning those with smaller boats to not go out into the water.
Monday is expected to be sunny with a high near 81 degrees.
