A Roxbury man is facing a litany of criminal charges in connection with a violent scene outside the Forest Hills MBTA station in Jamaica Plain last week, where he was shot by a police officer who prosecutors say had been hit by a car the man was driving only moments earlier.
Eyad Abbas, 23, was arraigned in the West Roxbury division of Boston Municipal Court on Monday on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (car), receiving a stolen motor vehicle, reckless operation, operating with a suspended license and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office. Abbas, who has a seven-page record of arrests and arraignments dating back to 2019, was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing set for July 29.
During his court appearance, Abbas had a large facial wound from being shot by the officer, Hayden’s office said in a statement.
