Conversation to begin Westfield’s celebration of American Revolution 250th

WESTFIELD — The Historical Commission is hosting a “conversation” with Nicholas Aieta in the Westfield Athenaeum’s Lang Auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., as part of a series of events to commemorate local history leading up to the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

Aieta said he will give a brief overview of the Provincial Congress of Massachusetts, which began meeting 250 years ago on Oct. 7, 1774. He will also offer some brief biographical points on the representatives from Westfield — John (Moadsley) Moseley, 1725-1780, and Elisha Parks, 1725-1778. He said Parks and Moseley were veterans of the French and Indian War, which concluded in 1763, and had some standing in the community.
