SOUTHWICK – During the Conservation Commission’s meeting Monday, its members asked how the Town Meeting approved home rule petition introduced by the town’s senator and representative died before a full vote of the state Senate before unanimously endorsing a letter to be sent to the Select Board showing its support for the bill.
“Politics,” was how Commissioner Dennis Clark finished a sentence started by Select Board member Diane Gale about what happened to the bill.
Gale, who attended the meeting, was answering a question Clark asked about whether the town’s two elected legislators, state Sen. Paul Mark (D-Becket), and state Rep. Nicolas Boldyga (R-Southwick), had introduced the bill in the Statehouse.
